The Cancer Care Foundation was started by Dr. Michael Tulkki, an endodontist in Wayzata, MN who decided to design an athletic medical scrub. While working on a service project with his son Ethan, they found a student from the University of MN football team who had battled osteosarcoma five times while continuing his pursuit as a collegiate athlete. In conversation with this athlete, Ethan, his dad, and three other sixth grade service project teammates (Wes, Koen and Lucas), they decided to produce a medical shirt for patients receiving cancer treatment. The design is meant to create an athletic shirt that is comfortable yet allows patients and medical professionals to easily access the port for delivery of medications.
